About our service
We support families involved in Private Law cases, usually through the services of a solicitor or Family Court. However, we will consider self-referrals from parents who are not currently involved in legal proceedings.
What we offer
Foyle Child Contact Centre is a warm, welcoming, child-centred environment with a range of play activities. Our activities are planned to respond to the age and ability of the children who attend (0-16 years). Each family has the opportunity to enjoy safe, positive and interactive contact time with the support of our highly trained and skilled volunteers.
There are also healthy refreshments on offer for both adults and children. There is no charge for the service or refreshments although donations are always welcome.
How you can help
Being a volunteer – if you feel you can offer approx. 3 hours every 6 weeks or so then consider joining us. It is not necessary to have experience of this type of work as we will offer you training after the normal vetting procedure has been completed. What we value most is the life experience and compassion that you can bring to the role of the volunteer and the whole team.
Not everyone can offer time but we certainly always need support with refreshments – i.e. fresh scones (which we can freeze), and anything else that contributes to the homely, welcoming atmosphere we strive to create.
As a voluntary organisation running costs are always a challenge. Fundraising events are key to our survival and if you can organise such an event please do!!!!!! Examples of events we have benefited from include:- parachute jump, sponsored slim, Belfast Marathon competitor, Ready Steady Cook evening and financial gifts from Mothers Unions branches and so on.
We also very much welcome and appreciate the support of prayers for the success of our service in helping families to build trust and move back to unsupported contact.
Plans for the future
Your prayers are particularly vital in our future work – currently we are looking forward to the opening of the Limavady Outreach Centre on 16th April 2008. Volunteers for this project are very welcome. We will keep you posted on any future plans.

Our Hero!!!!!
Foyle Child Contact Centre benefited by £748.00 thanks to the heroic Jonny McNee who undertook a parachute jump to raise funds for this very worthy voluntary organisation. Jonny has always wanted to experience a parachute jump and his “friends” surprised him with this very special birthday present. All at Foyle Child Contact Centre are very grateful to Jonny for his support.
